The County Council of Humberside (hereinafter referred to as“the Council”) with the benefit of an agreement with the North Yorkshire CountyCouncil pursuant to Section 8 of the Highways Act 1980 make this Schemein exercise of its powers under Section 106(3) of the Highways Act 1980and all other enabling powers:—
1. The Council are authorised to construct over the navigable waters of the River Aire the Bridge specified in the Schedule to the Scheme as part of the highway which the Council are proposing to construct from the western extremity of the roundabout which it is proposed to provide immediately to the north west of the A614 Rawcliffe Road bridge in the Borough of Boothferry in the County of Humberside generally north westwards to the southern extremityof the roundabout which it is proposed to provide at the junction ofA645 Camblesforth Road and C338 New Road in the District of Selby in theCounty of North Yorkshire.
2. This Scheme may be cited as The County Council of Humberside (Newland Bridge) Scheme 1990.
The location and the general design of the bridge areshown on the general arrangement plan numbered 100/B/89/501C annexedhereto.
The bridge will cross the River Aire generally on the alignmentof the dismantled single span railway bridge.
The bridge superstructure will be of composite construction consisting of steel plate girders and a reinforced concrete deck. Intermediate piers will belarge diameter bored piles and abutments will be reinforced concrete onpiled foundations.
The bridge will have three continuous spans of 19.5, 38 and 16 metres.
The overall width of the bridge will be 13.8 metres.
The clear width between intermediate piers will be 36.2 metres.
The minimum headway above Ordnance Datum Newlyn will be 8.077 metres.
