(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order, which applies to land in England and Wales, further amends the Milk Quota (Calculation of Standard Quota) Order 1986, by substituting for the Schedule to that Order a new Schedule, in which the quota per hectare prescribed by article 3 of that Order is revised (article 2). (The figures for the yield per hectare, prescribed by article 4 of the 1986 Order, remain unchanged). Quota per hectare is prescribed for the purposes of calculating the payment which a tenant in England and Wales is entitled, in certain circumstances, to obtain from his landlord in respect of milk quota on the termination of the tenancy of the land, by Schedule 1 to the Agriculture Act 1986.
