The Secretary of State for Wales makes this Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980(1) and of all other enabling powers:—
1. The new highways which the Secretary of State proposes to construct along the routes described in Schedule 1 to this Order shall become trunk roads as from the date when this Order comes into force.
2. The centre lines of the new trunk roads are indicated by heavy black lines on the deposited plan.
3. The lengths of the trunk road described in Schedule 2 to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be trunk roads as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the County Council of Clwyd that the new trunk roads are open for through traffic.
4. In this Order:—
(1) All measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;
(2) (i) “the deposited plan” means the plan numbered HA 10/2 WO85 marked “The London-Holyhead Trunk Road (A5) (Ty-nant to Dinmael) Order 1991”, signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Wales and deposited at the Welsh Office Repository, Curran Embankment, Cardiff;
(ii)“the new trunk roads” means the highways mentioned in article 1 of this Order;
(iii)“the trunk road” means the London-Holyhead Trunk Road (A5).
5. This Order shall come into force on 8th February 1991 and may be cited as the London-Holyhead Trunk Road (A5) (Ty-nant to Dinmael) Order 1991.

The routes of the new trunk roads are routes at Ty-nantand Dinmael in the Community of Llangwm in the County of Clwyd as follows:—
1. A route about 150 metres in length, starting at a point on the southern boundary of the trunk road 46 metres east of the eastern boundary of the garage at Ty-nant and then going to a point on the south-western boundary of the trunk road immediately opposite the eastern boundary of Ty-nant Farm. (This section being given the reference letters A and B on the deposited plan.)
2. A route about 590 metres in length starting at a point on the eastern boundary of the trunk road 55 metres south-east of the eastern boundary of Ty-nant Farm and then going to a point on the northern boundary of the trunk road 680 metres south-west of the western boundary of Dinmael County Primary School. (This section being given the reference letters C and D on the deposited plan.)
3. A route about 950 metres in length starting at a point on the south-eastern boundary of the trunk road 620 metres south-west of the western boundary of Dinmael County Primary School and then going to a point on the southern boundary of the trunk road at its intersection with the western boundary of the unclassified road between Dinmael and Pont Rhyd-llefrith. (This section being given the reference letters E and F on the deposited plan.)
The lengths of trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road are lengths between Ty-nant and Dinmael in the Community of Llangwm in the County of Clwyd as follows:—
1. A length of the trunk road about 42 metres long starting from a point on the western boundary of the junction with the unclassified road between Ty-nant and Dinmael and terminating at a point on the trunk road 10 metres south-east of the eastern boundary of Ty-nant Farm.
2. A length of the trunk road about 300 metres long starting from a point on the trunk road 80 metres south of the eastern boundary of Ty-nant Farm and terminating at a point on the trunk road 8 metres east of its intersection with the centre line of the unclassified road between Pont y Glyn-diffwys and Tai-mawr.
3. Full width of trunk road from the eastern boundary of Dinmael County Primary School for a distance of about 280 metres in a north-easterly direction and a tapering part width of the trunk road for about a further 28 metres.
