Coming into force

The Secretary of State for Transport in exercise of the powersconferred by sections 1, 2(1) and (5), 3 and 20 of the InternationalCarriage of Perishable Foodstuffs Act 19761, and of all other enabling powers, hereby makes thefollowing Regulations:—

These Regulations shall come into force on 15th May 1991 and may becited as the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs (Amendment)(No.2) Regulations 1991.

For the definition of“ATP” in regulation 2 (Interpretation and transitional provision) of theInternational Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs Regulations 19852 there shall be substituted the followingdefinition—

  • ATP” means the Agreement on the International Carriage of PerishableFoodstuffs and on the Special Equipment used for such Carriage (ATP)concluded at Geneva on 1st September 1970 as amended pursuant to article18 of the agreement3 and as further amended pursuant to that article by anamendment to Annex 1 which came into operation on 15th May 19914 and by amendments to appendices 1 and 2 of Annex 1 whichcame into operation on 6th July 19895 and 30th September 19906 and an amendment to Annex 2 which came into operation on28th March 19917

These Regulations amend the definition of the Agreement on theInternational Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs and the Special EquipmentUsed for such Carriage (ATP) of 1st September 1970 in the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs Regulations 1985 to take account of a further amendment to the agreement.
