The Social Security (Claims and Payments) Amendment Regulations 1992

The Secretary of State for Social Security, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 166(2) of the Social Security Act 19571, sections 51(1)(r), 51C(1) and 84(1) of the Social Security Act 19862, section 22(3) of, and paragraph 6 of Schedule 4 to, the Local Government Finance Act 19883, section 31(3) of, and paragraph 7A of Schedule 2 to the Abolition of Dosmetic Rates Etc. (Scotland) Act 19874 and those provisions as read with paragraph 11 of Schedule 5 to that Act5 and with the Community Water Charges (Scotland) Regulations 19886 made thereunder, and section 2(4) of the Social Security (Mortgage Interest Payments) Act 19927 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, after consultation with organisations representing qualifying lenders likely to be affected by the Regulations8, by this instrument, which contains only regulations made consequential upon section 1 of the Social Security (Mortgage Interest Payments) Act 1992, hereby makes the following Regulations:
