The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 5(2) of the Horses (Protective Headgear for Young Riders) Act 1990(1) and all other enabling powers, hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Horses (Protective Headgear for Young Riders) Act 1990 (Commencement) Order 1992.
2. The Horses (Protective Headgear for Young Riders) Act 1990 in so far as not already in force shall come into force on 30th June 1992.

This Order brings into force on 30th June 1992 the Horses (Protective Headgear for Young Riders) Act 1990 in so far as not already in force. This Act provides for the wearing of protective headgear by children while horse riding and prescribes offences and penalties.
