2. –
(1) The provisions of the National Curriculum in science shall not apply in the case of a pupil in the first year of the fourth key stage in the school year 1992/93 or in the second year of that key stage in the school year 1993/94 who satisfies the condition specified in paragraph (2) below.
(2) The condition is that the pupil is following courses of study leading to examinations for the GCSE in all three of the following subjects, namely: physics, chemistry and biology.
(3) References in paragraph (2) above to the GCSE in a particular subject are to any GCSE in a subject the syllabus of which conforms to the GCSE National Criteria for that subject for the time being approved pursuant to section 5 of the Act(1).
