Coming into force
The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Secretary of State for Health and the Secretary of State for Wales, acting jointly, in relation to England and Wales, and the Secretary of State for Scotland in relation to Scotland, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 4(1), 6(4), 16(1)(a) and (e) and (3), 26(1) and (3) and 48(1) of, and paragraph 1 of Schedule 1 to, the Food Safety Act 19901, and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations, after consultation in accordance with section 48 of the said Act with such organisations as appear to them to be representative of interests substantially affected by the Regulations:—
Title and commencement1
These Regulations may be cited as the Emulsifiers and Stabilisers in Food (Amendment) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 10th March 1992.
Interpretation2
Amendment of the English and Welsh and the Scottish Regulations3
In Part II of Schedule 1 to, respectively, the English and Welsh Regulations and the Scottish Regulations there shall be added, after the words “Council Directive 78/663/EEC” in the entries relating to E407 Carrageenan, E466 Carboxymethylcellulose and E473 Sucrose esters of fatty acids, in each case, the words “as amended by Article 1 of Commission Directive 90/612/EEC”4.
