(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the prescribed form of notice to be used by a tenant in claiming to exercise the right to buy under Part V of the Housing Act 1985. The form lists certain bodies which are public sector landlords. Periods spent as a tenant of such a body are relevant in relation to qualification for the right to buy and entitlement to discount.

The amendments to the form reflect the Housing (Right to Buy) (Prescribed Persons) Order 1992 (S.I.1992/1703), which amends the list of bodies to be treated as public sector landlords under Part V of the 1985 Act.
