TRIBUNALS AND INQUIRIES
These Rules prescribe the procedure to be followed in connection with public local inquiries held under section 11 of the Transport and Works Act 1992. These relate to applications for orders authorising—the construction or operation of railways, tramways, trolley vehicle systems and other systems of guided transport (as prescribed under section 2 of that Act) and matters ancillary thereto;the construction and operation of inland waterways and matters ancillary thereto;the carrying out of certain works which interfere with navigation and have been prescribed pursuant to section 4 of that Act.

Citation and commencement1
These Rules may be cited as the Transport and Works (Inquiries Procedure) Rules 1992, and shall come into force on 1st January 1993.
