Explanatory Note

These Regulations further amend the Child Benefit (Residence and Persons Abroad) Regulations 1976 (S.I. 1976/963) (“the 1976 Regulations”).
Regulation 7 of the 1976 Regulations modifies in relation to child benefit certain presence and residence requirements in respect of certain persons who are or have been outside Great Britain. Regulation 6 of the 1976 Regulations specifies the persons, including civil servants, to whom regulation 7 applies.
Regulation 2 of these Regulations amends the definition of civil servants in regulation 6 of the 1976 Regulations.
