Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order, which applies throughout Great Britain, varies Schedule 9 to the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, which lists species of animals which may not be released or allowed to escape into the wild and species of plants which may not be planted or otherwise caused to grow in the wild.

Article 2 adds seven species of animal to Part I of Schedule 9 to the Act and Article 3 adds eight species of plant and one group of species of plant to Part II of that Schedule.
