Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 735(1) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1894(1), is pleased by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—
1. — This Order may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Conformation of Legislation) (Virgin Islands) Order 1992 and shall come into force on 28th January 1993.
2. — The Registrar of Ships (Designation) Act 1992(2) enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands, is hereby confirmed.

This Order, made under section 735(1) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1894, confirms an Act of 1992 enacted by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands which confers power on the Governor to designate a public officer as the Registrar of Ships and validates the appointment of the Ports Manager as the Registrar of Ships from 9th October 1985 to the appointed day. The Act repeals section 4(1) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1894 as it applies in the Virgin Islands.
