This Scheme varies the M40 (London–Oxford) Motorway (Stokenchurch to Waterstock Crossroads Section) Scheme 1970 by removing the reference to the road connecting the A329 (previously known as the B4013) with the northbound carriageway of the M40 Motorway at Junction 7. The effect of the variation is that this connecting road ceases to be a special road as from the date on which the Scheme comes into force, but remains a trunk road for maintenance of which the Secretary of State for Transport is responsible.

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Scheme in exercise of powers conferred by sections 16 and 326 of the Highways Act 19801, and now vested in him2, and of all other enabling powers:—
