The Gaming Clubs (Hours and Charges) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1992

Coming into force

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 14(2) and (3) and 51 of the Gaming Act 19681, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after consultation with the Gaming Board for Great Britain in accordance with section 51(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:

These Regulations may be cited as the Gaming Clubs (Hours and Charges) (Scot land) Amendment Regulations 1992, and shall come into force on 1st May 1992.

These Regulations extend to Scotland only.

Regulation 5(1) of the Gaming Clubs (Hours and Charges) (Scotland) Regulations 19842 (bingo charges) shall be varied as follows:—

a

for the sum “£5.70” in both places where it occurs there shall be substituted the sum “£6.20”; and

b

for the sum “£4.28” in both places where it occurs there shall be substituted the sum “£4.65”.

The Gaming Clubs (Hours and Charges) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 19913 are hereby revoked.

These Regulations increase the maximum charges which may be made for admission to gaming on bingo club premises in Scotland.

The maximum charge in respect of a charging period other than the shorter period permitted on a Sunday is increased from £5.70 to £6.20.

The maximum charge in respect of the shorter charging period permitted on a Sunday is increased from £4.28 to £4.65.
