1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Measuring Instruments (EEC Requirements) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 1 May 1992.

2.  The Measuring Instruments (EEC Requirements) (Fees) Regulations 1988(2)are hereby amended as follows—

(a)in regulation 3(2), for “£30.30” there shall be substituted “£32.10”;

(b)in paragraph (a) of Schedule 2, for “£52.00” there shall be substituted “£55.00”; and

(c)in paragraph 1 (1)(a) of Schedule 3, for “£35.00”, “£52.00” and “£12.00” there shall be substituted respectively “£36.50”, “£55.00” and “£5.00”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations further amend the fees payable in connection with services provided by the Department of Trade and Industry so that, with effect from 1st May 1992—

(1) the fees payable for an application for EEC initial verification of all classes of alcoholometers and alcohol hydrometers are increased from £30.30 to £32.10;

(2) the fees payable per hour for EEC initial verification of certain instruments and systems are increased from £52.00 to £55.00; and

(3) the fees payable per hour for EEC pattern approval for examiner staff time and for the use of an environmental testing chamber are amended from £35.00, £52.00 and £12.00 to, respectively £36.50, £55.00 and £5.00.
