The Weights and Measures Act 1985 (Commencement) Order 1992
1.
This Order may be cited as the Weights and Measures Act 1985 (Commencement) Order 1992.
2.
Section 43 of the Weights and Measures Act 1985 shall come into force on 1st April 1994.
This Order brings into force, on 1st April 1994, section 43 of the Weights and Measures Act 1985.
This section provides that, when ascertaining the quantity of beer or cider for the purposes of certain provisions of that Act (including the provision which makes the giving of short measure an offence) or of subordinate legislation made under it, the gas comprised in any foam is to be disregarded.
With the exception of section 43, all the provisions of the 1985 Act were already in force before this Order was made.
The Weights and Measures Act 1963 (Intoxicating Liquor) Order 1984, to which section 43 refers, was revoked by the Weights and Measures (Intoxicating Liquor) Order 1988 which re-enacted provision relating to beer and cider that had been made by the earlier Order.
