Interpretation

2.  In this Order

  • any reference to Ealing or to Hounslow is a reference to the London borough of that name, and “Fulham” means the London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham;

  • “the map” means one or more of the 13 maps prepared by the Department of the Environment, marked “Maps of the Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, and Hounslow (London Borough Boundaries) Order 1993”, and deposited in accordance with regulation 5 of the Local Government Area Changes Regulations 1976; and any reference to a ward is a reference to a ward of the London borough from or to which an area is transferred(1).

Every district (including a London borough) is divided into wards for the purposes of the election of district councillors (sections 6(2)(b) and (c) of the Local Government Act 1972).
