The route of the new trunk road is to the south of Leadenham in the Districts of North and South Kesteven in the County of Lincolnshire, and is about 3.91 kilometers in length, starting at a point on the trunk road (Newark Road) about 1630 metres north-west of its junction with Cliff Road (A607) and proceeding in a generally south-easterly direction to a point on the trunk road (Sleaford Road) about 150 metres south-east of its junction with North Heath Lane.
