The Secretary of State for the Environment, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, after consultation with such representatives of local government as appear to them to be appropriate, in exercise of the power conferred on them by section 76(4) of the Local Government Finance Act 1988(1), and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Revenue Support Grant (Specified Bodies) (Amendment) Regulations 1993 and shall come into force on 22nd February 1993.

Amendment

2.  In relation to any financial year beginning on or after 1st April 1993 regulation 3 of the Revenue Support Grant (Specified Bodies) Regulations 1992(2) is amended as follows—

(a)paragraph (c) is omitted; and

(b)in paragraph (h), after “Co-ordinating Body on”, there is inserted “Food and”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

Sections 78 and 79 of the Local Government Finance Act 1988 provide for revenue support grant to be payable to any body which provides services for local authorities and which is specified by the Secretary of State in regulations.

The Revenue Support Grant (Specified Bodies) Regulations 1992 are amended to omit the entry relating to the Local Authorities' Race Relations Information Exchange and to amend the entry relating to the Local Authorities Co-ordinating Body on Trading Standards.
