The North Mersey Community National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment Order 1993

The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of powers conferred on her by section 126(3) of the National Health Service Act 1977(1) and section 5(1) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990(2) and of all other powers enabling her in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the North Mersey Community National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment Order 1992 and shall come into force on 5th February 1993.

Amendment of NHS Trust Establishment Order

2.  For article 3(2) (functions of the trust) of the North Mersey Community National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1991(3) there shall be substituted the following paragraph.

(3) The trust’s functions (which include functions which the Secretary of State considers appropriate in relation to the provision of services by the trust for one or more health authorities) shall be—

(a)to own and manage hospital accommodation and services provided at Sefton General Hospital, Smithdown Road, Liverpool L15 2HE and associated hospitals;

(b)to manage community health services provided from Sefton General Hospital, Smithdown Road, Liverpool L15 2HE and to own the associated premises..

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the functions of an NHS trust established by Order under Part I of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990 so as to include the function of managing hospital services.
