These Regulations amend the Environmental Protection (Prescribed Processes and Substances) Regulations 1991.
The effect of the amendments is—
to exempt from the prescribed process relating to the treatment and processing of animal or vegetable matter (Section 6.9 of Schedule 1 to those Regulations) the fleshing, cleaning and drying of pelts of fur-bearing mammals;
and to extend, from 31st July 1993 to 31st October 1993, the period within which an application for an authorisation under section 6 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 must be made in respect of an existing process falling within Section 4.1, 4.2, 4.7 or 4.8 of Schedule 1 to those Regulations (petrochemical processes, manufacture and use of organic chemicals, pesticide production, and pharmaceutical production).
