The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on her by section 126(3) of the National Health Service Act 1977((1)) and section 5(1) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990((2)) and of all other powers enabling her in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Teddington Memorial Hospital National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment Order 1993 and shall come into force on 5th August 1993.

Amendment of Establishment Order

2.  In the Teddington Memorial Hospital National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1993((3))–

(a)in article 1(2) the definition of “establishment date” shall be omitted;

(b)in article 4 for the words “4 non-executive” there shall be substituted “3 non-executive” and for the words “4 executive” there shall be substituted “3 executive”;

(c)in article 6 for the words “its establishment date” there shall be substituted “5th August 1993”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Teddington Memorial Hospital National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1993 firstly by substituting a new date in article 6 in order to enable the trust to perform limited functions before its operational date (article 2(a) and (c)) and secondly to reduce the number of non-executive and executive directors of the trust from 4 to 3 in each case (article 2(b)).
