ROAD TRAFFIC

The London South Circular Trunk Road (A205) (Westhorne Avenue, Lewisham) (Prohibition of Use of Gaps in Central Reserve) Order 1993

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6(1) and (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(1), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis pursuant to section 7(6) of that Act(2), hereby makes the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the London South Circular Trunk Road (A205) (Westhorne Avenue, Lewisham) (Prohibition of Use of Gaps in Central Reserve) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 10th August 1993.

2.  In this Order–

“central reserve” means that part of Westhorne Avenue which separates its two carriageways for the safety and guidance of vehicles using that road; and “Westhorne Avenue” means that length of the London South Circular Trunk Road (A205) in the London Borough of Lewisham known as Westhorne Avenue.

3.  No person shall cause or permit any vehicle proceeding in Westhorne Avenue to enter or proceed through the gaps in the central reserve which lie–

(a)130 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerbline of Burnt Ash Hill; and

(b)75 metres south-west of the south-western kerbline of Alnwick Road.
