LOCAL GOVERNMENT, ENGLAND AND WALES

Under sections 8 and 20 of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 the Secretary of State may by regulations require local authorities to incorporate in standing orders provision relating to their staff, meetings and proceedings.

The Secretary of State for the Environment as respects England and the Secretary of State for Wales as respects Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 8, 20 and 190 of the Local Government and Housing Act 19891, and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:
