Whereas under section 17(1) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 19731, the Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland on 10th March 1992 submitted to the Secretary of State a report on a review conducted under section 14(1) of that Act in which they made proposals for the transfer of a certain area from East Kilbride District to Eastwood District, both in Strathclyde Region, and in which they also made proposals for changes in electoral arrangements consequential on those changes in local government areas; and whereas in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 17(2) of the said Act, the Secretary of State made the Eastwood and East Kilbride Districts (Busby) Boundaries Amendment Order 19932 to give effect to the proposals of the Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland as submitted to him; and whereas the date of coming into force of the said Order was 1st October 1993; and whereas East Kilbride District Council and Eastwood District Council have requested the Secretary of State to amend the date of coming into force of the said order and the Secretary of State is agreeable to that change; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 17(2) and 233(2) of the said Act, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order to give effect to the said proposals of the Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland as submitted to him:
