The Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (Commencement No. 16) Order 1993

The Secretary of State in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 195(2) of the Local Government and Housing Act 19891 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order—

This Order may be cited as the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (Commencement No.16) Order 1993.

In this Order “the Act” means the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.

Sections 67 to 70 and section 72 of the Act so far as they are not already in force, and section 73 of the Act, shall come into force on October 1993.

Article 3 of this Order brings into force on 7th October 1993 the provisions in sections 67 to 70 and section 72, in so far as they are not already in force, and section 73, of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.These provisions relate to companies in which local authorities have interests, and trusts which are subject to local authority influence.
