The Foot–and–Mouth Disease (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 1993

Title and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Foot–and–Mouth Disease (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 1st January 1994.

Amendments

2.—(1) In the Foot–and–Mouth Disease Order 1983(1) for articles 22A and 34A there shall be substituted the following articles respectively—

Requirement to confine animals on common land within an infected area in England or Wales

22A.  The owner or person in charge of an animal allowed to run on common or unenclosed land in England or Wales shall, upon the making of a declaration under article 17 of this Order in relation to that land, confine that animal within premises in the infected area., and

Requirement to confine animals on common land within a controlled area in England or Wales

34A.  The owner or person in charge of an animal allowed to run on common or unenclosed land in England or Wales shall, upon the making of a declaration under article 30 of this Order in relation to that land, confine that animal within premises in the controlled area..

(2) In the Swine Vesicular Disease Order 1972(2) for the Schedule to that Order there shall be substituted the Schedule set out in the Schedule to this Order.

(3) In the African Swine Fever Order 1980(3)—

(a)in article 3 the words “to the extent indicated in the third column of that Schedule” shall be deleted, and

(b)for the Schedule to that Order there shall be substituted the Schedule set out in the Schedule to this Order.

3.  The Foot–and–Mouth Disease (Amendment) Order 1993(4) is hereby revoked.
