The Registrar, or the appropriate person, shall issue to the owner of the ship a certificate of provisional registration in a form approved by the Secretary of State.The certificate shall have the effect of a certificate of registry until:—
a
the expiration of three months from its date of issue, or
b
the ship’s arrival in the United Kingdom, or
c
termination by the Registrar on request from the owner, whichever shall first occur.
