Amendment of the Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study in Modern Foreign Languages) Order 1991
2. The Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study in Modern Foreign Languages) Order 1991(1) is amended as follows:
(a)for article 1(3) there is substituted:
“This Order applies in relation to the third key stage in maintained schools in England and Wales and in relation to the fourth key stage in maintained schools in England only.”; and
(b)for article 3 there is substituted the following article:
“3. The provisions of this Order relating to the fourth key stage shall come into force—
(a)on 1st August 1996 in respect of pupils entering the first year of that key stage in the school year beginning in 1996; and
(b)on 1st August 1997 in respect of all other pupils.”.
