Whereas it appears that Her Majesty’s Government in the United Kingdom have agreed to a revision of the Convention set forth in the Protocol amending the Convention concerning International Carriage by Rail ( COTIF) signed at Berne on 9th May 1980, adopted by the 2nd General Assembly of the Intergovernmental Organisation for International Carriage by Rail (OTIF) constituted by the Convention held at Berne from 17th to 20th December 19901 (hereinafter called “the Protocol”):
And whereas a draft of this Order has been laid before Parliament in accordance with section 8(3) of the International Transport Conventions Act 19832 and has been approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament:
Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 8(1) of the International Transport Conventions Act 1983 and of all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—
