The Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning) Orders 1994 Revocation Order 1994

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order revokes the Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning) Order 1994 (“the No.1 Order”) and the Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning) (No.3) Order 1994 (“the No.3 Order”) which prohibited—

(a)fishing for or taking (in the case of the No.1 Order) mussels, scallops and razor clams and (in the case of the No.3 Order) cockles, mussels, scallops and razor clams as defined (article 1), within the areas designated in the Schedule respective to each Order (article 4);

(b)movement of such shellfish out of those areas (article 5); and

(c)landing, using in the preparation or processing for supply of food of, supplying and other specified activities in relation to, such shellfish from the designated areas within the United Kingdom (article 6).

The effect of this Order is to remove completely the prohibition from fishing for, taking, moving, landing, using in food production and supplying the shellfish affected by the Orders from the areas designated in the Schedule respective to each Order.
