Amendment of the National Health Service (General Medical Services) Regulations 1992

2.—(1) The National Health Service (General Medical Services) Regulations 1992(1) shall be amended in accordance with the following paragraphs of this regulation.

(2) In Schedule 10 (drugs and other substances not to be prescribed for supply under pharmaceutical services)—

(a)the following entries shall be omitted—

  • Algipan

  • Beecham Coughcaps

  • Benylin Chesty Cough Linctus

  • Benylin Decongestant Linctus

  • Benylin Dry Cough Linctus

  • Biocare Hepaguard Capsules

  • Bioflav Compound Tablets

  • Bioflav Compound + C Tablets

  • Cremalgin

  • Diazepam oral solution 5mg/ml

  • Diazepam oral suspension 5mg/ml

  • Fluimucil

  • FSC Super B-Supreme High-Potency Capsules

  • Halibut Oil A & D Capsules

  • Health+Plus Compound B Tablets

  • Healthilife Vitamin E Soya Free Tablets

  • Hill’s Junior Balsam

  • Hydrox Hand Rub

  • Junior Disprol Suspension

  • Lanes Lecigran Capsules

  • Lemsip Night-Time Liquid

  • Midro-Tea Power

  • Nicotine Patch

  • Phor Pain Tablets

  • Phor Pain Double Strength Tablets

  • Protofibe Tablets

  • Quest Supa-Mega B-50 Timed Release Tablets

  • Quest Supa-Mega B + C Complex Tablets

  • Radian B Liniment

  • Radian B Rub

  • Savlon Baby Care Baby Bath

  • Savlon Baby Care Lotion

  • Savlon Baby Care Oil

  • Savlon Baby Care Powder

  • Savlon Baby Care Shampoo

  • Savlon Baby Care Soap

  • Seba-Med Liquid Cleaner

  • Softtab Soft Lens Care Tablets

  • Spectraban 10 Lotion

  • Sun Yums Gluten Free & Dairy Free Muffins

  • Vicks Vaposyrup Childrens; and

(b)the following entries shall be inserted at such places in the alphabetical order of the entries in that Schedule as are appropriate—

  • Seba-Med Facial Wash

  • Softab Soft Lens Care Tablets

  • Vicks Vaposyrup Childrens Dry Cough

  • Zenoxone Cream.

(3) In Schedule 11 (drugs to be prescribed under pharmacuetical services only in certain circumstances)—

(a)the entry relating to Pregnavite Forte F Tablets shall be omitted; and

(b)after the entry relating to Cyanocobalamin, there shall be inserted in columns 1, 2 and 3 respectively the following—

Niferex Elixir 30ml Paediatric Dropper BottleInfants born prematurelyProphylaxis and treatment of iron deficiency
Nizoral CreamAny patientTreatment of seborrhoeic dermatitis and pityriasis versicolor.
