Coming into force

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 30(5) of the Education (No. 2) Act 19861 the Secretary of State for Education as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, hereby make the following Order:

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Education (No. 2) Act 1986 (Amendment) (No. 3) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 16th November 1994.

Amendment and Revocation

For section 30(2)(i) of the Education (No. 2) Act 1986 (Governors' annual report to parents) there shall be substituted—

i

to give such information about public examinations and other assessments of pupils' achievements, pupils' absences from the school, the continuing education of pupils leaving the school and the employment or training taken up by such pupils as is required to be published by virtue of section 8(5) of the 1980 Act;

Article 3 of the Education (No. 2) Act 1986 (Amendment) Order 19942 is revoked.

This Order amends section 30(2)(i) of the Education (No. 2) Act 1986. This section was previously amended by Article 3 of the Education (No. 2) Act 1986 (Amendment) Order 1994 which is now revoked (article 3). Section 30(2)(i) is re-amended by virtue of this Order. The articles of government for schools maintained by local education authorities must now require the governors' annual report to include such information about pupils' absences as is required to be published by virtue of section 8(5) of the Education Act 1980 (article 2).
