1. This Order may be cited as the Railways (Alternative Closure Procedure) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 1st April 1994.
2. The railway passenger services provided or operated under or by virtue of the enactments referred to in the Schedule to this Order (being services in relation to which section 37 (proposals to discontinue non-franchised etc passenger services) of the Railways Act 1993 does not have effect by virtue of
(i)article 6 of the Railways (London Regional Transport) (Exemptions) Order 1994(1), and
(ii)article 7 of the Railways (Class and Miscellaneous Exemptions) Order 1994(2)) are services in relation to which the provisions of Schedule 5 (alternative closure procedure) of the Railways Act 1993 are to have effect.
