Supersession of earlier designations

3.—(1) The designation which provides that the Secretary of State shall be designated in relation to maritime transport shall supersede the designation of the Secretary of State in relation to requirements concerning sea-going tankers entering or leaving UK ports in the European Communities (Designation) Order 1979(1).

(2) The designation which provides that the Secretary of State and the Treasury shall be designated in relation to measures relating to the interruption or reduction, in part or completely, of economic relations with one or more countries which are not Member States shall supersede the designations of the Secretary of State in relation to the following measures in the following orders:

(a)measures relating to trade affecting Iraq or Kuwait in the European Communities (Designation) (No. 3) Order 1990(2); and

(b)measures relating to claims made under or in connection with contracts or transactions the performance of which has been affected by measures decided upon pursuant to Resolution 661 (1990) of the United Nations Security Council and related resolutions, in the European Communities (Designation) (No. 4) Order 1992(3).
