Whereas the council of the London borough of Southwark has applied to theSecretary of State for an order to be made under section 76 of the Road Traffic Act 1991(1) and the Secretary of State has consulted the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis in accordance with section 76(2) of that Act:
NOW, the Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferredby sections 76(1) and 77(6) of the Road Traffic Act 1991 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Special Parking Areas) (London Boroughs of Richmond upon Thames and Southwark) (Amendment) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 30th January 1994.
2.—(1) The Road Traffic (Special Parking Areas) (London Boroughs of Richmond upon Thames and Southwark) Order 1993(2) shall be amended as follows.
(2) At the end of article 1 there shall be inserted “so far as it relates to the London borough of Richmond upon Thames and on 5th April 1994 so far as it relates to the London borough of Southwark”.
(3) In article 3(1)(b) the words “and to the areas” onwards shall be omitted.
(4) Part II of Schedule 2 shall be omitted.

The Road Traffic (Special Parking Areas) (London Boroughs of Richmond upon Thames and Southwark) Order 1993 designated (subject to specified exclusions) the London boroughs of Richmond upon Thames and Southwark as special parking areas for the purposes of Part II of the Road Traffic Act 1991 with effect from 31st January 1994 and made consequential modifications to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and to Part II of the 1991 Act. This Order amends the 1993 Order by providing that, in relation to the London borough of Southwark, that Order is to come into force on 5th April (instead of 31st January) 1994.
