Regulation 2(7)
Regulations 14(1)(e), 18(c)(iv) and 21(c)
Semen which is not frozen must—
(a)have one of the following antibiotics added so that in the final diluted semen the concentrations indicated are produced:—
not less than: | 500 IU per ml streptomycin |
500 IU per ml penicillin | |
150 ug per ml lincomycin | |
300 ug per spectinomycin; or |
(b)have an alternative combination of antibiotics added with an equivalent effect against campylobacters, leptospires and mycoplasmas; and
(c)immediately following the addition of antibiotic, in accordance with (a) or (b) above, be kept at a temperature of at least 5 degrees centigrade for a period of not less than 45 minutes.”
