The General Medical Council (Registration (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations) Order of Council 1995

By the Lords of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council
Whereas in pursuance of section 32 of the Medical Act 19831 the General Medical Council have made the Medical Practitioners Registration (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 1995 as set out in the Schedule to this Order:
And whereas by subsection (8) of the said section such regulations shall not have effect until approved by Order of the Privy Council:
Now, therefore, Their Lordships, having taken the said regulations into consideration, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said section 32(8), do hereby order as follows:

This Order may be cited as the General Medical Council (Registration (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations) Order of Council 1995.
SCHEDULETHE MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS REGISTRATION (FEES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 1995
The General Medical Council in exercise of their powers under section 32 of the Medical Act 1983 hereby make the following regulations:
Citation, commencement and interpretation1

These Regulations may be cited as the Medical Practitioners Registration (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 1995 and shall come into force on 1st May 1996.

In these regulations “the principal Regulations” means the Medical Practitioners Registration (Fees) Regulations 19854.
Amendment of regulation 5 of the principal Regulations2
In regulation 5 of the principal Regulations, in paragraphs (1) and (2), for the words “regulation 7, 8 or 9” substitute “regulation 8 or 9”
Regulations revoked3
Regulations 5(4) and 7 of the principal Regulations are hereby revoked.
Application of these Regulations4

Nothing in these Regulations shall result in an annual retention fee becoming payable by a person whose name is included in the Overseas List in respect of any period before his first due date falling when these Regulations are in force.

Expressions used in paragraph (1) and in the principal Regulations shall have the same meanings in the former as in the latter.
