REPRESENTATION OF THE PEOPLE
REDISTRIBUTION OF SEATS AND REVIEW OF ELECTION ARRANGEMENTS
The Parliamentary Constituencies (Northern Ireland) Order 1995
Coming into force in accordance with article 1(2)
At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 23rd day of November 1995
Present,
The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council
Whereas in pursuance of section 3(1) of the Parliamentary Constituencies Act 1986() and section 28(2) of the Northern Ireland Constitution Act 1973(), the Boundary Commission for Northern Ireland have submitted to the Secretary of State a report dated 20th June 1995 showing the constituencies into which they recommend, in accordance with that Act, that Northern Ireland should be divided, together with a supplementary report showing the number of members that they recommend should be returned to the Northern Ireland Assembly for each of those constituencies;
And whereas the Secretary of State has laid the report and supplementary report before Parliament together with the draft of this Order in Council to give effect, without modifications, to the recommendations contained in the report and supplementary report and each House of Parliament has by resolution approved the said draft;
Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 4 of the Parliamentary Constituencies Act 1986 (as enacted and as applied by section 28(4) of the Northern Ireland Constitution Act 1973()) and section 28(5) of the Northern Ireland Constitution Act 1973(), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
