Citation and interpretation1.

This Order may be cited as the Pensions Act 1995 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1995.

In this Order references to sections and Schedules are references to sections of, and Schedules to, the Pensions Act 1995.
Appointed day2.
(1)
The day appointed for the coming into force of section 39 (exercise of powers by member trustees), and sections 117, 121 and 124, insofar as they relate to that section, is 1st January 1996.
(2)
The day appointed for the coming into force of sections 62 to 66 (equal treatment) and sections 117, 120, 121, 124, 174 and 175 insofar as they relate to those sections—
(a)
for the purpose only of authorising the making of regulations under sections 63(5), 64(2) and (3) and 66(4), is 4th December 1995; and
(b)
for all other purposes, is 1st January 1996.

This Order provides for the coming into force of provisions of the Pensions Act 1995 on the following dates—
1st January 1996 for section 39 concerning the exercise of powers by member trustees;
1st January 1996 for the full coming into force of sections 62 to 66 and paragraphs 29, 32 to 37, 39(b), 42, 44(a)(i) and 47 of Schedule 3 concerning equal treatment and 4th December 1995 for the coming into force of sections 62 to 66 for the purposes of making regulations in relation thereto.
The following provisions have been brought into force by the Pensions Act (Commencement No. 1) Order 1995 (S.I. 1995/2548) (C. 51).
