3. Section 59(1) of the Justices of the Peace Act 1979 as amended by paragraph 19(1) and (2) of Schedule 8 of the Police and Magistrates' Courts Act 1994 shall apply as regards the net cost to a responsible authority in any year of its functions under the Justices of the Peace Act 1949 (Compensation) Regulations 1978(1) only in respect of decisions on claims for compensation made by a determining authority under those Regulations on or after 3rd February 1995.
