Subject to paragraph (2) and article 7 below, 6th April 1995 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the provisions of the Act specified in Schedule 2 to this Order.

The commencement of section 127(1) of the Act by paragraph (1) above shall not extend to—
a
the transfer of functions referred to therein; or
b
the provision that section 36(1) of the Social Work (Scotland) Act 19682 shall cease to have effect.
