THE SCHEDULEPLAN AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE RIVER HULL BRIDGE

LOCATION

The location and the general design of the bridge are shown on the location site plan and general layout plan (numbered A0/9304/103).

The bridge will cross over the River Hull on two decks. The centre point of the bridge will be at a point in the River Hull approximately 98 metres north of the most northerly point on the Greenacres Estate, Kingston upon Hull.

CONSTRUCTION

The bridge will comprise steel superstructures and reinforced concrete abutments on piled foundations.

SPAN

Each deck will have a single opening span of 31 metres.

WIDTH

Each deck will have a width of 13 metres.

WATERWAY

Each deck will have a minimum clear navigable waterway of 26 metres at the Statutory Defence Level of 4.65 metres above Ordnance Datum Newlyn.

HEADWAY

When raised, each deck will be pivoted to a vertical position on the west bank completely clear of the river.

When lowered, each deck will have a headway of 1.5 metres above High Water Ordinary Spring Tides, when the depth of the water is 3.5 metres above Ordnance Datum Newlyn.

OPERATION

The bridge control cabin will be manned and the bridge operated on request upon 24 hours previous notice given to the Kingston upon Hull Harbourmaster.
