Coming into force

The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of powers conferred on her by section126(3) of the National Health Service Act 19771 and section 5(1) of, and paragraph 29(1) of Schedule 2 to, the National Health Service and Community Care Act 19902 and of all other powers enabling her in that behalf, considering it appropriate in the interests of the health service to make this Order3, and after completion of the consultation prescribed under paragraph 29(3) of Schedule 2 to the latter Act4, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the United Leeds Teaching Hospitals National Health Service Trust Dissolution Order 1995 and shall come into force on 1st April 1995.

Dissolution of NHS trust2

The United Leeds Teaching Hospitals National Health Service Trust established by the Leeds General Infirmary and Associated Hospitals National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 19905 is hereby dissolved, and accordingly that Order and the Leeds General Infirmary and Associated Hospitals National Health Service Trust (Change of Name) Order 19916 are hereby revoked.

This Order provides for the dissolution on 1st April 1995 of the United Leeds Teaching Hospitals National Health Service Trust established on 21st December 1990.
