The Notification of Existing Substances (Enforcement) (Amendment) Regulations 1996

These Regulations may be cited as the Notification of Existing Substances (Enforcement) (Amendment) Regulations 1996 and shall come into force on 20th June 1996.
Amendment of the Notification of Existing Substances (Enforcement) Regulations 19942.
(a)
in regulation 4(3) (g), for the words “(in the absence of persons other than a person nominated to be present and any person whom the inspector may allow to be present)” there shall be substituted the words “(in the absence of anyone, other than someone nominated by that person to be present and anyone whom the inspector may allow to be present)”;
(b)
in regulation 5(3), the words “which is not to take immediate effect” shall be omitted; and;
(c)
in regulation 7(3), for the words “the statutory maximum” there shall be substituted “level 5 on the standard scale”.

These Regulations, which apply to Great Britain only, amend the Notification of Existing Substances (Enforcement) Regulations 1994 to correct defects in those Regulations.
