The Jobseeker’s Allowance and Income Support (General) (Amendment) Regulations 1996

Now therefore the Secretary of State for Education and Employment, in relation to Part II of these Regulations and the Secretary of State for Social Security, in relation to the remainder of the Regulations, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 4(1), (4) and (5), 6(2) and (4), 7(4), 8,9(12), 19(8)(b), 21, 35(1) and (3) and 36 of, and paragraphs 4,9, 12 and 16 of Schedule 1 to, the Jobseekers Act 19952, section 5(1)(h) of the Social Security Administration Act 19923, section 124(1)(e) of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 19924 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, by this instrument, which contains only regulations made by virtue of, or consequential upon, those provisions of the Jobseekers Act 1995 and which is made before the end of the period of 6 months beginning with the coming into force of those provisions5, hereby makes the following Regulations:
