The Location and general design of the Bridge are shown on the plan numbered 04/502/200 marked “the Trafford Road Improvement Stage 2, Pomona Bridge General Arrangement” sealed with the Common Seal of the Council of the City of Salford and deposited at the office of the City Secretary, Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, Manchester M27 5DA and at the offices of the Secretary of State for Transport, Wellbar House, Gallowgate, Newcastle Upon Tyne NE1 4TD.
From a point at the Trafford bank of the Manchester Ship Canal 15 metres upstream (east) of the existing Trafford Road Swing Bridge, neighbouring the existing Swing Bridge, to a point adjacent to the Salford abutment of the Trafford Road Swing Bridge.
The span over the canal is 50.9 metres skew (45.1 metres square).
The side span over the land is 31.6 metres skew (28.03 metres square).
Not less than 5.227 metres above the normal water level of 21.22 metres.
The existing clear navigable width remains unchanged.
The Bridge will be 18.750 metres wide overall and will carry 4 lanes of overall width 14 metres. A single 3 metres wide footway is provided.
