This Order brings into force on 16th October 1996 further regulation and rule making powers contained in the Pensions Act 1995.
The powers concerned are those contained in—
section 3(2) (prohibition orders),
section 74 (discharge of liabilities by insurance, etc.),
section 118 (powers to modify Part I of the Act),
section 125 (powers supplementary to the interpretation section),
section 158 (amendments to section 149 of the Pensions Scheme Act 1993),
section 165 (levy),
Schedule 2, paragraph 12 (functions and procedures of the Pensions Compensation Board),
Schedule 3, paragraphs 23 (disclosure of information by the Registrar of Occupational and Personal Pension Schemes) and 44(a)(ii) (definition of “the Regulatory Authority”), and,
Schedule 5, paragraph 80(f) (consultation about regulations).
