The M2 Motorway (West of Rochester Section) Scheme 1996

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Scheme in exercise of powers conferred by sections 16 and 17 of the Highways Act 1980(1) and now vested in him(2), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf—

1.  This Scheme may be cited as the M2 Motorway (West of Rochester Section) Scheme 1996 and shall come into force on 9th April 1996.

2.  The Secretary of State is authorised to provide a special road, for the exclusive use of traffic of Classes I and II of the classes of traffic set out in Schedule 4 to the Highways Act 1980, along the route of the A2 Trunk Road, from the western limit of the M2 Motorway, westwards for a distance of 816 metres (measured along the route of that trunk road).

3.  The centre line of the special road is indicated by a heavy black line on the plan numbered SNPR 95/30, marked “The M2 Motorway (West of Rochester Section) Scheme 199”, signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Great Minister House, Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DR.
